Luthier Made Guitars

Madrona Guitars is a one-man operation. I make my instruments one step at a time from design to completion. I do not use CNC or outsource any step of the process. I enjoy the challenge of each new build, no two are alike.

I genuinely love the craft of guitar making and put my heart into producing the very best guitar I can build, each time I enter the shop.

Take a look at my Store to see available instruments and those coming soon. Check out my Gallery to see what is currently on my workbench and past projects.

Why Madrona?

In choosing a name I wanted to bring in my Pacific Northwest roots. My family and I love the area in which we live. We are surrounded by the San Juan Islands, after which my guitars find their names.

We have always been drawn to the beauty of the Madrona trees that line the water’s edge. While not a great wood for making guitars, I admire the Madrona for its inspiring form and beauty.

Guitar making as a fine art.

We are drawn to nature and beauty; fine handmade guitars are both. To see potential in a piece of wood, the color, grain or figure that grabs your attention. It requires patience and a passion to bring it all together into somthing you can hold and listen to.
